Happy New Year and welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful Christmas break. I also want to say thank you for the kind and thoughtful gifts.

What a busy and positive start to Year 4 it has been! The children have settled in wonderfully and are already showing great enthusiasm for their learning. It has been lovely getting to know them better over these past weeks, and I’m excited for all that lies ahead this year.
The class has already begun swimming lessons and are diving into our topics with real enthusiasm. This half term, we are focusing on Roman Britain—exploring the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain through a variety of fun and engaging activities, making links across different subjects wherever possible. We will also be developing reading skills, particularly scanning texts for information and exploring a wide range of fiction and non-fiction, while continuing to build on mathematical knowledge and understanding.

With plenty of exciting opportunities ahead, I can’t wait to see how the children continue to grow, shine, and challenge themselves. I’m also looking forward to working closely with you to support them in reaching their full potential.
