Mathematics

Mathematics is essential to everyday life. It provides a foundation for understanding the world, enabling us to appreciate relationships and patterns in both number and space. Our aim is for all children to become confident, fluent and resilient mathematicians, empowering them to reason and solve problems in a range of contexts, and develop a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject.

We are developing our Mathematics Mastery curriculum to ensure every child can achieve excellence in mathematics. Children can experience a sense of awe and wonder as they solve problems, discover different solutions and make rich connections between different areas of mathematics, as well as connections with different subjects. Our curriculum provides pupils with a deep understanding of the subject through a concrete, pictorial and abstract approach. This ensures pupils fully understand what they are learning.
