Year 4

Easter Pre-Learning Tasks

I can't believe we have come to the end of the second term of Year 4. The children have worked extremely hard this term in all aspects of the curriculum. We have all particular enjoyed our science topics on "All Living Things" and "Animals including Humans", getting to be the digestive system was a favourite part for many! In English, we have enjoyed reading our class texts, also producing some great writing around it and I have been really impressed with how much the class engaged in other Norse myths and Legends. Year 4 also impressed me with their eggcellent eggstravaganza's!

I hope you all have a restful Easter!

World Book Day

We had so much fun on World Book Day! I was very impressed with all your outfits!

We loved walking through Narnia and seeing all the different animal themed stories set up in the hall. We had a great time in the Perform workshop, which was based on 'The Wind in the Willows', we enjoyed acting and make freeze frames with our groups and rapping along to the story! Overall, a very successful World Book Day

Health Body and Mind Week

During 'Healthy Mind and Body Week' Year 4 were invited to 'Wake and Shake' every morning, enjoyed a circus skills workshop, had extra fruit and veg snacks in the afternoon and made their own fruit kababs.

Circus skills focused on developing their balance and concentration levels- we all really enjoyed balancing the peacock feathers on our hands, arms and even our chins as well as spinning plates. We had a lot of fun making fruit kababs, it required the children to peel, chop and prepare different fruits. We were excited to try fruits we hadn't tried before and to taste different combinations of fruits on our kababs.

What a busy term we have had in Year 4!

We have been on an adventure with Varjak Paw, been to the Artic with 66 pugs, carried out lots of science investigations and even turned into Roman's for the day! I have been really impressed with the children's determination and perseverance over the term- they have all worked really hard and have produced some great work across the curriculum!

I hope you have a lovely Christmas and have a well deserved break! Thank you for making me feel so welcome at St Osmund's School, I have really enjoyed this term with the class, and look forward to seeing you all after Christmas!

Happy Christmas!

Miss Sloan
